The Story
HiRise Inc started in 1993 in a high-rise building in Chicago. Literally.
I was working with a NY Times bestselling author and several nonprofits, and I loved every minute of it. Not because of the tactics or the channels, but because I got to be part of transforming lives through brands and services that actually mattered.
Back then, it was about getting products into bookstores, catalogs, big box stores, TV spots, and the Home Shopping Network. It was about writing copy that resonated and building relationships with buyers who genuinely wanted to serve their customers with great products.
I remember my first big deal: a 75,000-copy book agreement for a catalog. They asked, “What’s the name of your company?” I looked out the window of my high-rise office and the name just came. HiRise Inc. A nod to the building, yes. But also to what we’ve always been about: elevating brands, lifting them higher, and helping them rise above the noise.
Then the internet exploded. Suddenly, the game changed. But the mission didn’t. We still help brands connect with the people who need them most. We still build relationships. We still care about results that matter.
The channels have evolved. The strategy has sharpened. But the heart of HiRise? That’s never changed.
